As the seasons change and the nights are darker earlier, we're offering evening guided tours to give visitors the chance to see the 21st century renovation works inside the shell of our 14th century monument on an evening in a different light.

You will learn about the history of the families who lived here and the significant architectural highlights. For those able to ascend our original stone spiral staircase, you will be met by impressive landscapes seen from our viewing gallery on the roof (weather dependent). Tours last approximately one hour and we have free on-site parking. 

£5 per adult
(Please note: this is an adult only tour. English Heritage members require a paid ticket for Evening Tours but still have free access during our usual day time visits)

Due to Hylton Castle being a working venue which is in use most of the week, visits must be pre-booked. Our usual day time tours are typically held on Wednesdays or Saturdays unless extra days are added. (Please note: in adverse weather we are unable to open the roof for health & safety reasons)
